World’s First Induction Motor for AC Electricity

Nicola Tesla’s creation of a motor that ran on AC electricity has been ranked among history’s greatest inventions, but it was not particularly practical for manufacture or use.

George Westinghouse purchased the patents from Tesla in 1888, but it took his engineers nearly two years to re-design Tesla’s concept for practical purposes.
